Above all, we covet the prayer cover of our fellow believers. We could never do this of our own strength and we expect to be challenged and tested at every turn. We humbly but boldly ask that, on a daily basis, you would pray for the needs of our family, the Roelofs family, the Esther School, and for the people of Zambia. We will update our supporters with more specific prayer requests periodically.
Come…
We are encouraged by the promise of our North American allies joining us in the field through work trips to the Esther School. We are currently scheduled for a work team that will travel to Zambia for two weeks during the end of February and beginning of March. We also hope to help coordinate many more work teams throughout our time in Zambia so that others may share their gifts as the are called and equipped to do so. We rely on and are thankful for all financial gifts of support. In order to live and work in Zambia, we will depend greatly on the generosity of our friends, family and others who are inspired and would like to share in what the Lord is doing in Zambia. Our regular expenses will include things like food, health insurance, medications, medical care, and travel expenses.
Despite the poverty in Zambia, the cost of living is actually quite high. As a land-locked nation, most of the products used in Zambia must be imported (which adds significantly to their cost). Items such as food, household good, medicine, and gasoline are shipped into Zambia from around the world.
You can make a tax-deductible donation through the GEMS organization. This can be done directly by way of their website at:

. Once at the site, select, “The Esther School in Zambia” and then click, “Next”. There you will see a screen where you can select “Administrators – The DeKams”. There are also many other needs of the school listed there for your consideration as well.

Some of you may also feel called to lead others toward this ministry. If you are interested in spreading the word about what God is doing through the Esther School by arranging for support through your church, school or other organization, please let us know how we can help. We would be happy to accommodate by offering our time, information, printed materials, or steering you in the right direction to make that happen. This is truly a message that can be spread efficiently and effectively to God’s glory.
